The claim was about Nazis but then you add the entire WWII death count, which includes 10s of millions from Stalinism as well as ~ 25 million in Asian-Pacific. That's a dishonest argument, WWII wasn't just Nazis.
It goes beyond the Middle East. Between the decades of conflicts in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Nigeria. Somalia, among many others, all fueled by Salafist insurgencies. To Salafist dictatorships in Saudi Arabia, Iran (Shia version), Sudan (until 2019), Pakistan (in the 80s), and now Afghanistan, again among others. Let's not forget decades of terror activity across the world that kills 100s to 1000s every year. There is certainly a large body count from all of that, certainly in the millions.
Perhaps it hasn't reached 2-3% of the world's population yet - at least in the modern era (this ideology has existed in some form or another for 1400 years). But, unlike the Nazis (or American imperialism for that matter), it's still growing substantially every day around the world with no signs of slowing. After another 20, 30, 50 years it may just be a real competition.
As I've said previously, it's also not just about death counts either but how society itself suffers under loss of freedom, democracy, human rights, etc. All women's freedoms are gone, not just a certain subset. There is zero innovation, unless it's imported, zero human progress in science, medicine, technology. This sort of medieval societal regression is the core of the danger here. And the fact anyone is susceptible to it, not just one particular ethnicity.
But I absolutely agree the West has contributed to arming much of these Salafi armies and that is partly why I wrote this article to help people wake up and see just how dangerous this ideology is. So we can elect better people who won't get involved...
