For Republicans, Trump’s Innocence is Vital.

Their entire worldview depends on it.

It doesn’t matter how many witnesses and co-conspirators testify.

It doesn’t matter how many government watchdogs confirm the crime.

It wouldn’t even matter if a crime happened right in front of them, smoking gun and all. At this point, his supporters — 90% of Republicans — would help Trump hide the evidence themselves.

Power.

Trump has given Republicans the rush of power they have never had. Even when they lose Trump either twists it into a win or distracts them with other victories, creating constant surges of endorphins among his base. Trump has become a power placebo that has lead to severe addiction.

Add to that the countless conservative Judges appointed all around the country, including two on the supreme court, to cement their ideology on America for years — possibly decades — to come.
