A Speech Written For Joe Biden To Manchin & Sinema
It may be unlikely, but let’s imagine Joe Biden taking these two rogue Senators into a room and saying the following:
“Look it here, I don’t understand why you’re both insistent in helping Republicans — and now by extension Trump — gaining back power. This is ultimately what you are doing by holding up my agenda to get anything done. The voters will continue to see us as the Do Nothing Democrats, and they will punish us for it.
This bi-partisan bill you’ve produced may fix a few bridges and roads, but it won’t do a damn thing for improving the average American’s life. Not like childcare, family leave, tuition-free college, expanded healthcare and so on.
So many people are suffering because our government has been ineffective at delivering any meaningful change for years. We have a real opportunity here to make significant improvements to the average American’s quality of life, improvements that have been enjoyed by citizens around the world for generations. Improvements on a scale not seen since FDR, which our nation desperately needs.
